How to Pick an Offer in Ultimate Special Offers

If you’ve installed Ultimate Special Offers and you know exactly what you plan to do with it, that is awesome. Go forth and sell! If, on the other hand, you know you want to run a promotion of some kind, but you’re not sure where to start, we are here to help!

With nine offer types to choose from, Ultimate Special Offers can be a tad overwhelming at the start. Use these three questions to determine which offer type to try first.


1. What is your level of ecommerce expertise?

If you are brand new to ecommerce, or you’ve never run a sale before, keep things simple! Test the sales waters with the most basic of deals:

    • Discount: a percentage amount off that is applied to your entire store.
    • Goal: customers get a percentage or dollar amount discount when their cart reaches a certain amount.
    • Free Gift: customers get a free gift with their order when they spend a certain amount.

2. What are you trying to accomplish?

Part of running a sale is knowing what you want to get out of it. Of course you want profits, but you may have more specific goals for your promotion. Take a look at the goals below and see if any of them fit you:

If there’s no specific goal you’re aiming for with your promotion, put yourself in your customers’ shoes and consider what kind of sale they’re most likely to engage with. What will draw them to the store? What will catch their eye on Instagram or TikTok and get them to click over to your shop? Here are some questions to get you thinking:

    • Do you sell items that require repurchase that people would want to stock up on? For example, candy, soap, coffee, or lipstick? Run a Volume or Bulk offer.
    • Do you sell luxury goods, or items that are considered expensive or premium? Offer a Discount and lure in the folks who want to pay just a little bit less.
    • Are your items small or inexpensive, and you want to sell more? Go for a Goal or Free Gift offer to incentivize customers to buy a higher quantity, or run an Upsell to suggest they add another item.
    • Do your customers often buy your products as gifts? Set up Bundle or BOGO deals so customers can gift one item and keep one for themselves.
